NAB, Las Vegas, April 15ᵗʰ 2007, SanDisk and Sony announce a collaboration with the intention of creating a new memory card specification, the SxS card. SxS memory cards use flash memory and comply with the ExpressCard form factor. At the time of their conception, ExpressCards were being rapidly adopted by PC manufacturers to replace the legacy PC Card form factor, giving the SxS memory cards broad support in post-production hardware. Sony adopted this high-speed SxS memory card specification in its XDCAM EX series professional camcorders. VMEDIA who are based in London, can provide you with a wide selection of SxS cards for hire. We supply SxS-1, SxS Pro and SxS Pro+ in sizes 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and soon to be 256GB. Our SxS memory card hire contributes to an efficient 4K workflow. SxS cards are currently supported by the ARRI ALEXA Classic, ARRI ALEXA XT, ARRI ALEXA SXT, the Sony PMW-F55, Sony PMW-F5 and various XDCAM series Camcorders.
